Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Jodie Riddex, an industrious accountant & bookkeeper who's been providing a variety of services to small businesses since 2005.

Every businessman and woman will have been on their own personal journey just to get to the point where they are now either setting up or running their own business and there will never be two with exactly the same accounting requirements.

Therefore I have structured my business to support yours by:-

• Not limiting my working week to Monday - Friday 9 til 5. Wherever possible I will make myself available at a time which fits your schedule.
• Meeting up and carrying out work at a location convenient to you, be that my home office, your home/business premises or, if you live further afield corresponding solely via email, telephone and post.
• Offering just the services that you require. For a small one-man-band this usually entails the annual preparation of your sole trader or Limited Company accounts and tax returns. For slightly larger businesses I can assist with VAT and/or payroll issues or if you require a complete bookkeeping service I can carry this out for you or train and support your staff to do so. For larger companies I can provide your accountant with everything they require to prepare your accounts.
• As a registered member in practice of the Association of Accounting Technicians you can be sure that my knowledge of current legislation and working practices as well as my professional indemnity insurance is always up to date. This means that you can be confident that your business is in safe hands and compliant in the ever changing world of tax.
• Using a variety of IT systems to effectively record and report your transactions. I'm a registered Pro Advisor with Quickbooks which is a fabulous piece of bookkeeping software that can be customised to suit practically any business and is surprisingly user-friendly. I'm also a whizz on excel and I find this sufficient for many small simple businesses and for creating various reports. I also use third party software to prepare and submit accounts and tax returns.
• Accepting records in any format of your choice, be that a carrier bag of receipts, handwritten records or computerised workings. However I draw the line at working with Sage!

I genuinely do care about all of my clients which is why after my initial advertising campaign my business has grown almost entirely through word-of-mouth referrals.
